Summary

The Advisor Project Manager leads the execution of complex, multi-workstream initiatives within large-scale Medicaid programs. This role partners closely with state clients, business leaders, and cross-functional delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Your role in our mission
  • Lead multiple projects and/or programs across the full delivery lifecycle, from initiation through implementation and stabilization.
  • Apply stage-gate governance to ensure readiness reviews, approvals, and quality checks are completed before advancing to subsequent phases.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional delivery teams supporting Medicaid systems, enhancements, and regulatory initiatives.
  • Partner directly with state clients and internal business leaders to plan, prioritize, and deliver system changes.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple work streams, vendors, and functional teams.
  • Provide project leadership by assigning resources, mentoring team members, and serving as an escalation point.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across assigned initiatives.
  • Monitor delivery performance against contractual commitments, SLAs, and regulatory timelines.
  • Support capacity planning and workload balancing across projects, defects, and ongoing system support.
  • Collaborate with peer project managers to align resources and delivery priorities across the program.
  • Escalate delivery, resourcing, or system risks to leadership with clear recommendations.
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of project and/or program management experience, including leadership of complex initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects using Waterfall methodology with stage-gated delivery checkpoints (required);
    Agile or hybrid experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a client-facing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience working within client/vendor delivery models.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project; MS Project Online (MSPO) experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering Medicaid, MMIS, or other public-sector healthcare systems.
  • Experience working with state agencies and navigating regulatory-driven delivery.
  • Background supporting large, multi-year programs with multiple work streams.
  • PMP or similar project management certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $86,000 – $124,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
