Role OverviewWe are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Dev Ops Lead to drive the evolution of our infrastructure and application delivery processes. This role demands a leader who can balance significant technical contribution (approximately 50% hands-on) with effective team management. You will be instrumental in shaping our Dev Ops practices, enhancing system reliability, scalability, and efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within your team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong software engineering foundation, having successfully transitioned into a Dev Ops leadership capacity.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 Dev Ops engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high team performance and engagement.
- Architect, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure, primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation) to manage infrastructure efficiently.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health, performance, and proactive issue detection.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of development and operations, focusing on reliability, operational excellence, and developer experience.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems and diverse technology stacks, ensuring minimal downtime and root cause analysis.
- Contribute directly to scripting and automation efforts using Python and Shell scripting to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements within the Dev Ops lifecycle.
- Participate in strategic planning for future infrastructure and tooling enhancements.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related technical role within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of engineers, including performance management and career development.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, etc.
- Expertise in scripting and automation using Python and Shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems, including system administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls).
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions).
- A strong foundational background in software engineering, with prior experience in developing applications using technologies such as Java and Mongo
DB, and a clear transition into a Dev Ops leadership role.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.
