Security Engineer- Microsoft Defender

We are seeking a Security Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft Defender suite to support integration and migration efforts for newly acquired entities.

This role involves deploying and configuring security tools, conducting risk assessments, and supporting both M&A and broader security architecture initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop secure, scalable, and compliant architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

M&A Integration Support:

• Deploy Microsoft Defender Suite, Tenable, and other security tools across newly acquired environments.
• Remove legacy security tools and ensure smooth transition to standardized platforms.
• Coordinate and execute security scans to validate device safety.
• Review external company technology stacks, perform risk assessments, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Define and document secure end-state architecture for new entities.
• Update and refine the M&A Playbook based on lessons learned.

• Assist with tool deployments, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Conduct security reviews and issue triage.
• Generate reports and metrics to track tool performance and security posture.
• Provide advisory support to internal teams and stakeholders.

• Strong expertise across the Microsoft Defender tool suite.
• Hands-on experience with integration and migration of security tools.
• Experience in deploying and configuring Tenable and other security platforms.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and define secure architectures.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills.
• Experience supporting security architecture and engineering teams.
• Familiarity with reporting, metrics, and issue triage processes.

• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Azure Front Door, Zscaler, and Abnormal Security.
• Prior involvement in M&A security integration projects.
