Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are partnering with a high-growth, private-equity-backed organization to identify a Director, Total Rewards who will play a critical role in scaling compensation, benefits, and HR technology during a period of rapid organic growth.
This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. The right leader will be equally comfortable thinking strategically and executing hands-on, partnering closely with the CHRO and senior leadership to modernize Total Rewards infrastructure and drive disciplined, data-driven decision-making.
Why this role stands out
• Organization has scaled revenue and EBITDA significantly over the past several years through organic growth
• Strong executive sponsorship and a mandate to build, influence, and improve
• Opportunity to own Total Rewards strategy end-to-end while modernizing systems and processes
• Visible role with direct exposure to executive leadership and operators
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of compensation, incentive, and benefits programs
• Maintain and evolve job architecture, salary bands, titles, and career frameworks
• Oversee merit, bonus, and incentive processes, including system configuration and workflows
• Serve as the internal expert and owner of HRIS (Paylocity) for compensation, benefits, and analytics
• Improve data integrity, reporting, dashboards, and leader-facing insights
• Partner on benefits strategy, vendor management, renewals, and compliance (ERISA, ACA, 401(k), etc.)
• Act as a thought partner to HRBPs and executives in a multi-site, hourly + salaried workforce
• Support Total Rewards and HRIS diligence and integration for future growth initiatives
Ideal Background
• 7+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits
• Proven experience building or scaling programs in a growing organization
• Strong understanding of compensation design, incentive plans, and job architecture
• Hands-on experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS platforms
• Comfortable operating in environments with change, growth, and complexity
• Prior experience in PE-backed, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or field-based organizations is a plus
