Optomi is seeking a HR Generalist to support enterprise HR and Talent Acquisition teams. This role will own end-to-end background screening operations, partner closely with internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, experience with First Advantage (Sterling), and the ability to manage multiple workflows independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Own and manage the background screening process through First Advantage (Sterling)
- Review criminal, clinical, education, employment, license, and other role-specific verifications
- Monitor screening workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective processing for both new hires and current employees
- Review, adjudicate, or support adjudication of background screening results in alignment with company policy
- Manage escalations related to adverse findings, candidate disputes, and time-sensitive hiring decisions
- Serve as a subject matter resource to HR and Talent Acquisition on screening policies, processes, and best practices
- Manage new location setup for background screening and testing as locations are onboarded
- Coordinate and manage the Quarterly Random Drug Testing Program, including:
- Partnering with First Advantage support to distribute random testing lists
- Tracking testing progress throughout the quarter
- Support invoice processing and reconciliation related to screening and testing vendors
- Ensure all processes are compliant with internal policies and external regulations
- 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a field-based environment or a combination of field and corporate HR
- Prior experience overseeing background screening processes; experience with First Advantage (Sterling) strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including FCRA and EEOC guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to apply consistent, impartial decision-making criteria
