Purpose and Job Summary

ORIX Corporation USA is on the lookout for a highly motivated HR Generalist Associate level to join our dynamic team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a burgeoning HR professional to deepen their expertise in onboarding, vendor management, leave of absence, compliance, employee support, and employee relations, under the guidance of the HR Operations Manager. This opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about human resources, focused on the employee experience, and excited about contributing to the optimization and success of HR functions within our organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Onboarding & Pre-hire Support:
    Facilitate the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless transition into the company, emphasizing a positive initial experience.
  • Contingent Worker Management Support:
    Assist with the coordination and management of vendor relationships related to HR functions.
  • Leave of Absence (LOA) & ADA Program Management:
    Administer comprehensive leave program including FMLA, state disability leave, personal leave, and accommodation‑related time off, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Manage the interactive accommodation process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), working collaboratively with employees, managers, and healthcare providers to identify and implement reasonable accommodations.
  • Employee Support & HR Inquiries:
    Leveraging our Workday case management system, respond to employee inquiries promptly, directing employees to available resources, tutorials, or contacts, escalating tickets to appropriate points of contact, and is proactive about upcoming Company or HR events to anticipate potential employee questions.
  • Employee Support:
    Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated employee concerns, providing empathetic and solutions‑oriented support while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge Base Article Management:
    Develop and maintain knowledge base resources including FAQs, tutorials, and self‑service tools to enhance employee self‑service and education.
  • Analytics:
    Analyze inquiry trends and patterns to identify systemic issues and recommend process improvements that enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Unemployment Claims:
    Support the handling of unemployment claims, ensuring they are managed promptly and efficiently.
  • Labor Law Poster Management:
    Maintain and update labor law posters to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
Contacts

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.

Education, Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated experience in employee relations, HR operations, onboarding, compliance, a strong emphasis on supporting employees.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably Workday, with demonstrated ability to complete common HCM transactions.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law including FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and accommodation processes.
  • Optimization mindset, the ability to identify areas for improvement and ensure an excellent service experience.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • A passionate and enthusiastic approach to HR, driven by a desire to contribute positively to the organization.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines;
    Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
