The People Success (PS) Manager, Distribution is part of the Distribution Center PS team responsible for strategizing and implementing comprehensive and integrated human resources solutions. These solutions proactively address all major PS areas—talent acquisition, exempt and non‑exempt, organizational development, performance management, talent planning, career development, communication, leadership development, associate engagement, and training.

Key duties include achieving business objectives by identifying opportunities to solve business problems through broad and up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law, organizational behavior, change management, data analytics, best practices, and company policy. The PS Manager provides an open line of communication within the Distribution Center, ensures policies and procedures are followed, clarifies and resolves issues, and follows up on performance management practices.

They compile and report on PS data points to identify trends and align toward PS goals and company strategic imperatives.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a strategic partner to the Senior Operations Managers, driving talent development, staffing, associate engagement, and PS Strategic Initiatives across the DC organization.
  • Oversees the recruiting process for non‑exempt associates: sourcing, screening, interviewing, scheduling, offer letters, new‑hire orientation, and processing new‑hire paperwork; collaborates with corporate TA on all exempt hiring needs.
  • Facilitates associate and leadership training, including labor relations, change management, leadership development, performance management, and engagement.
  • Partners with TA to ensure a steady flow of DC leadership candidates and interview leaders as needed during the selection process.
  • Works with DC leadership to determine hiring needs, develop staffing plans, and recommend methods to meet staffing objectives.
  • Manages placement of temporary associates in the DC through partnership with selected third‑party agencies.
  • Utilizes company reporting tools to analyze current trends and make timely recommendations that alleviate risk or positively impact business or associates.
  • Influences Ulta’s culture, mission, and values at all levels of the DC.
  • Facilitates onboarding, assimilation meetings, and ongoing development opportunities for operations leaders.
Essentials of Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex ideas clearly to a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite; willing to learn additional programs and systems as needed.
  • Proven experience requiring high organizational skill and a strong sense of urgency; able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team‑orientated and able to function effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Flexible work schedule according to business needs.
  • Ability to attend off‑site job fairs.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $77,600.00 – $98,000.00 per year, with the opportunity for eligibility to earn additional compensation under the Company’s bonus plan.
