The Role

The primary responsibility of Manager of Extended Stay Operations (MESO) is to live and exhibit our “Owners First” culture. MESO will provide first‑line operational support for our extended‑stay brand developers/owners/management companies/hotel staff. The MESO will engage internal and external teams to deliver on the value proposition and drive revenue through engagement in WHR programs and services that yield top line revenue (i.e. Revenue Management Services, Remote Sales, Wyndham Sales, Signature Reservations and future programs).

MESO will also leverage their background and experience to advise on extended‑stay operational excellence to improve the bottom line for owners.

What you’ll do
  • Manage a dynamic, growing portfolio of extended‑stay hotels.
  • Provide operational excellence from contract execution through hotel opening and ongoing operations, including on‑site opening support for new hotels.
  • Drive extended‑stay occupancy (ESOC) to best‑in‑segment levels for each hotel by training hotel teams to leverage WHR tools and programs.
  • Support WHR efforts to expand overall revenue generation opportunities, drive growth and performance (RPI).
  • Guide hotel teams toward consistently‑high quality performance and increased customer satisfaction (Net Promoter, OSAT) for our extended‑stay hotels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers within the management company/hotel teams and assist them in resolving day‑to‑day and complex challenges.
  • Recommend decisions that have a direct impact on financial goals and operations.
  • Understand local market conditions impacting hotel operations and performance with the ability to identify, recommend and influence revenue‑generating opportunities.
  • Recommend improvement actions that will drive positive guest reviews.
  • 80% travel with flexible work schedule.
  • Work under pressure with extended hours/days when required in order to meet deadlines.
  • This position requires the ability to stand and be on your feet for approximately 50% of the day.
You'll be successful if you have
  • Deep understanding of the extended‑stay segment, how it differs from the transient segment and how to use this knowledge to drive the business.
  • Proficient at analyzing and organizing data consistently to execute meaningful messages during hotel onsite and virtual visits.
  • Proficient influencing skills to achieve operational results and hotel staff engagement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate up the internal chain of command to resolve issues.
  • Fluent understanding of existing WHR tools & resources and ability to leverage them for the benefit of the hotel and management company teams.
  • Builds on existing internal relationships and trust & provides feedback/solutions to leadership on hotel needs & challenges.
  • Fluent in ability to manage conflict and difficult conversations.
  • Expert in independently prioritizing, organizing and managing time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively present material to various audiences.
  • Portfolio management experience.
  • Industry certifications.
