The Group Sales Manager is responsible for selling and coordinating small group room blocks, corporate groups with guestrooms, non-wedding social, and mid-week catering events without guestrooms. This role supports the hotel’s overall group and catering strategy by managing assigned accounts, responding to inquiries, and collaborating closely with internal departments to ensure a seamless client experience from inquiry through contract execution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Sell and manage small to mid-size group room blocks, including small corporate programs with guestrooms
- Handle assigned group and catering inquiries, including lead qualification, proposal preparation, and contract execution
- Sell and manage mid-week catering events without guestrooms and social events not related to weddings
- Conduct site inspections and maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the sales process
- Accurately document all sales activities, client details, and booking information in Delphi and CVENT
- Utilize Social Tables, Cendyn, and Microsoft Office tools to support event planning and internal coordination
- Collaborate with Director of Sales, Revenue Management, Event Services, Culinary, and Operations to ensure alignment on event details and guest expectations
- Participate in weekly sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and internal coordination meetings
Provide on-site support for events, site tours, and client meetings as required
- 1–3 years of experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment
- Prior experience in hotel sales, convention services, catering and events, or hospitality sales
- Experience with Delphi and CVENT is strongly preferred; willingness to learn and achieve proficiency required
- Working knowledge of Social Tables and Cendyn preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional communication skills and a guest-focused approach
- This is an on-property, in-office position
- Evening and weekend availability is required based on business needs, including site tours and events
- Work is performed in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site tours and events
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
