Job SummaryThe Department of Otolaryngology is a multispecialty ENT surgical practice located on the UT Southwestern main campus in Dallas. The Dallas location has more than 70 providers in the treating the following conditions:
- General ENT
- Head and Neck Cancer
- Facial Nerve Disorders
- Facial Plastic Surgery
- Nasal and Sinus Disorders
- Sleep Disorders - Snoring
- Speech and Language Pathology
- Swallowing Disorders
- Voice Disorders
The practice manager is responsible for optimization, growth, performance, safety and financial results of this practice. The key leadership responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight for the patient care and business operations of the practices
- Reviewing clinic operations metrics to optimize clinical financial performance, achieve quality measures, and drive patient satisfaction
- Working with medical director(s) to ensure appropriate utilization of provider scheduling templates and to achieve patient access goals

- Education Master s Degree (MBA, MHA or MPH) or Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
- Experience 3 years of effective leadership experience in a healthcare environment in a large and complex organization with a Master s Degree or 5 years of effective leadership experience in a healthcare environment in a large and complex organization with Bachelor s Degree.
Preferred Experience
- Background in practice growth initiatives, including adding providers, expanding service lines, and working with multiple subspecialities
- Familiarity with an ambulatory clinic setting
- Otolaryngology practice experience
- Responsible for optimization, growth, performance, safety and financial results of designated portfolio of clinics spanning multiple locations or/and specialties with independent management structures at each location including the strategic planning and management for all clinical activities of the practice. This includes oversight for the patient care and business operations of the practices.
- Develops an efficient and effective collaborative relationship between staff and faculty members, while fostering a positive working relationship. This includes the development/implementation of staffing models, streamlined workflows, meaningful reward and recognition programs, opportunities for ongoing professional development, onboarding programs, and communication plans.
- Assures provider fulfillment of all obligations and responsibilities related to patient care effort, as well as assuring complete compliance with all federal and state regulations and laws. Works with Medical Director, Departmental and health system leadership on programmatic development and associated key performance metrics. Arranges for appropriate call and escalation schedules as needed.
- Optimizes access and referral management activities. Establishes pathways to reduce lag times, ensures financial transparency, manages slot fill rates and meets productivity expectations. Includes template management, modeling for business plans/budget, outreach, and referring provider/patient communication management.
