- For anesthesia tech role, act as a resource for staff for service-related questions, including issues on equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assign duties and daily assignments to staff in the Anesthesia tech role to maintain consistent workflow.
- In charge of shift report.
- Mentor and teach new staff, including check-off of initial competencies.
- Mentor and train current staff on new equipment, instruments, and processes.
- Check-off annual competencies for current staff.
- Be the liaison regarding instruments and supplies to ensure availability for scheduled surgeries.
- Work closely with nursing and physician leaders to identify needs of physician providers, patients, and others and seek to meet those needs to improve the patient care experience, improve quality, and reduce cost.
- Attends OR huddles to anticipate needs for next day.
- Ensure that staff are adequately prepared for surveys and audits in conjunction with Director, Quality Coordinator and/or Physician leader.
- Perform and train staff to do the routine maintenance checks of all anesthesia machines, ensuring they are up to date and working properly prior to each case.
- At least 3 years Anesthesia Technologist experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school Required
- Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience. Certified Anesthesia Tech Preferred
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS certification. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification Required
- Current ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.
A.T.T.) or Current Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.
A.T.) Preferred - PALS Preferred
