Certified Medication Aide PRN (CMA)

The Certified Medication Aide PRN provides assistance and direction to residents with personal care needs and activities of daily living, and provides medication administration assistance and coordination to residents.

• Obtains and records resident’s vital signs and weight.
• Administers and documents medications given by following specifically written physicians’ orders, including oral, topical, and suppository medications, as well as eye and ear drops.
• Reorders prescriptions and coordinates with pharmacy providers to ensure residents have ordered medications.
• Observes, records, and reports observations such as unexpected and untoward effects from medications.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Answers resident calls for assistance.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Assists and monitors residents during dining.
• Assists residents with light daily housekeeping and trash removal.
• Assists Lifestyle Coordinator with carrying out activities for residents.

• Current CMA certificate in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of CMA experience preferred but not required.
