JOB SUMMARYWorks under general supervision to provide routine technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to particular field of science. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively with research team members, patients, and the broader research community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Collecting and processing biosamples, consenting and enrolling patients, and managing data entry and research databases.
- Assisting in conducting experiments and working on research problems in physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and related fields by performing routine procedures.
- Assembling and operating laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Recording resulting data in accordance with established methods; conferring with supervisor concerning results obtained and modifying procedures as instructed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Preferred skills and experience: fluency in Spanish (a plus), proficiency in Microsoft Office, medical knowledge such as scribing, experience with EMR systems like Epic, and experience with REDCap or other research databases. Minimum: completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field, or high school diploma with courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, or GED equivalent.
First year experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.
