Position Overview:

The Patient Coordinator conducts the front office of a primary care and STI testing practice. This role serves as the first point of contact, coordinating patient flow, maintaining electronic medical records, ensuring Ryan White program compliance, and supporting HIV/STD testing activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform patient check-in/check-out; verify demographics, , insurance, photo, and consent forms
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments; follow up on no-shows
  • Collect payments and accurately record in electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Answer multi-line phone system; screen calls, take messages, route appropriately
  • Communicate patient copays, deductibles, benefits, and prescription assistance programs
  • Accurately record and scan Ryan White visits at time of service
  • Verify Ryan White and insured patients have active services prior to appointments
  • Coordinate Ryan White patient appointments with agency partners
  • Input program data into database platforms; perform regular updates and maintenance
  • Maintain HIV/STD/syphilis testing client files and electronic medical records
  • Support HIV/syphilis/STD testing activities; coordinate with Dallas County Health
  • Follow all federal, state, local, and accrediting body rules and regulations
  • Perform duties in accordance with OSHA, clinic protocols, and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Healthcare office and customer service experience preferred
  • Experience with HIV, Ryan White services, and eClinical

    Works EMR strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing codes, and key HIV/STI medications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ community, advocacy issues, and support services
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays as needed
  • Commitment to HIPAA and confidentiality of all client information
