Job SummaryJoin a collaborative team of APPs caring for high acuity cardiac surgery patients at Clements University Hospital. You’ll manage the postoperative hospital course and assist with drain management, discharge planning, evaluation of consults, and related duties. No OR procedures or first assist. Schedule is 12-hour day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. We’re looking for an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Education
Graduate of a master’s degree or higher from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program, or a master’s degree or higher in nursing with completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
Licensure and Certification
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensure by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. OR Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing with prescriptive authority authorization and Acute Care certification. Current applicable ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) per UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
Preferred
- Experience:
1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
Security: This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
