Hours:
7am to 7pm Compensation depends on experience. Minimum hourly pay rate: $31.96 per hour.

- Evaluates patient and recommends a treatment plan.
- Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and provides education upon discharge.
- Conducts physician‑prescribed treatments of routine nature operating various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non‑invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
- Performs chest physiotherapy by operating equipment to promote secretion clearance, suctioning via various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and monitors oximetry and capnography per policy.
- Performs routine review of patient’s chest x‑rays to determine need for further evaluation.
- Performs 12‑lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
- Performs pulmonary function studies according to policy (e.g., NIF, VC).
- Assists with procedures relating to respiratory care (e.g., bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, chest tube placement) when applicable.
- Performs adequate drainage of chest via Pleur
X catheter or similar device, when applicable. - Performs tracheostomy care per policy, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
- Performs arterial puncture per policy and monitors ventilation efficiency, recording and reporting test results.
- Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
- Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free‑hand technique or video laryngoscope system, where applicable.
- Records all pertinent treatment information and patient response in respiratory care records and patient chart, including pre‑ and post‑assessment per policy.
- Communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians concerning therapy efficiency.
- BLS certification required.
- Current state licensure required.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire (Agency RT must have ACLS on first shift; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).
- Active credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent; RRT preferred.
- One year of related experience preferred.
