The Vice President of the Home Health Division provides executive leadership, direction, and oversight for all home health operations, ensuring excellence in patient care, compliance, financial performance, and interdisciplinary support services. This role directly supervises Regional Directors of Operations. The VP serves as the primary leader responsible for aligning home health strategy with organizational goals, overseeing census growth, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial stewardship.
They collaborate closely with the VP of Compliance, Clinical Learning & Development and the VP of Clinical Care Delivery & Quality, ensuring integration of compliance, clinical standards, and staff development into home health operations. Operating within the RACI framework, this leader ensures transparency, accountability, and effective communication across all levels of the home health organization.
- Provide executive leadership for all home health operations across assigned regions.
- Supervise Regional Directors of Operations, ensuring consistent performance against budget, growth, compliance, and quality standards.
- Serve as the key liaison with executive leadership, aligning home health strategy with organizational goals and growth initiatives.
- Ensure home health operations consistently meet and exceed financial, census, and growth targets.
- Oversee Average Daily Census (ADC), conversion rates, and market expansion activities.
- Partner with finance and operations to ensure budgets, staffing models, and utilization metrics (SHP, QAPI) are achieved.
- Monitor LUPAs, unbilled claims, and F2F compliance to safeguard financial integrity.
- Partner with the VP of Clinical Care Delivery & Quality to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding patient care and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with the VP of Compliance, Clinical Learning & Development to maintain regulatory readiness, survey compliance, and continuous staff education.
- Support Regional Directors and Directors of supportive services in achieving excellence in interdisciplinary team (IDT) coordination, patient-centered care, and QAPI initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, and professional growth across home health teams.
- Ensure employee satisfaction, retention, and development strategies are in place.
- Mentor and develop Regional Directors and supportive service directors, preparing future leaders for organizational success.
- Champion transparent and timely communication with staff, leaders, and executive colleagues.
- Monitor KPIs for home health operations, supportive services, and patient care outcomes.
- Report home health performance to executive leadership, including clinical, compliance, financial, and patient satisfaction metrics.
- Use SHP, QAPI, and VBP metrics to identify trends and implement strategic improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Current RN license in good standing (required).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in health, including executive-level oversight (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in achieving growth, operational efficiency, compliance, and high patient satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of CMS home health regulations, SHP, QAPI processes, and interdisciplinary care requirements.
- Proven ability to lead both clinical and supportive service functions in a complex healthcare organization.
