Laboratory Inventory Coordinator is responsible to ensure that the department has the right amount of stock/supplies to maintain daily operation by managing, ordering, stocking and reconciling inventories

- Education High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience Strong attention to details
- Experience Previous experience performing related duties;
Familiarity with data entry via computer workstation preferred
- Maintains adequate inventory levels, appropriate rotation of stock, and current dating for supplies. Responsible for defining, ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking of supplies. Maintains temperature sensitive supplies upon receipt and distribution. Maintains storage areas designated for laboratory supplies.
- Ensure delivery of goods to specified lab department locations. Coordinates returns.
- Coordinates purchase order for repairs, services, or other identified requests. Assists in the setup of standing orders for defined supplies. Assists with the requisitioning and product searches for special request items. Provides information related to materials in stock and unit prices.
- Assists in the development of inventory management in each laboratory section. Assists with the inventory recall process. Coordinates purchase order and receipt for Laboratory proficiency testing (CAP) for all laboratory sections.
- Coordinates laboratory specific supplies to clinic labs and lab reference clients.
- Demonstrates financial accountability through accurate documentation of workload, efficient use of time, and appropriate purchasing of regular and special items. Meets departmental standards for productivity, accuracy, and quality.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Vendors, Purchasing and Materials Management departments.
- Assists laboratory departments in maintaining off‑site storage of CLS materials (specimens and documents).
- Meets department standards for productivity, accuracy, and quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
