Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator to support the OB/GYN front office. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, efficient patient flow, and accurate medical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent patient service abilities. Bilingual proficiency is a plus, along with experience in medical billing, coding, and office management within a healthcare setting.
Duties- Manage patient scheduling and appointment coordination using EMR systems such as eClinical
Works. - Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes.
- Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT and ICD coding standards while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation including ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.
- Assist patients with intake procedures, including documentation review and data entry.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries efficiently.
- Support front desk operations including patient check-in/out, appointment reminders, and general clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, filing, and document scanning.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and coordinate between providers and patients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and maintain patient privacy at all times.
- Assist with other administrative duties related to medical office management as needed.
- Prior clinic or medical office experience preferred, especially within OB/GYN clinics.
- Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), billing procedures, insurance verification, and health information management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle administrative support tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Bilingual capabilities are advantageous for serving diverse patient populations.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor; ability to manage multi-line phone systems effectively.
