Physician Assistant

Texas Back Institute, one of the largest freestanding multispecialty clinics in the U.S., has been a leader in spine care since 1977. With a focus on spinal arthroplasty, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal deformity, and oncology care, the institute provides comprehensive treatment for back and neck pain. The institute trains healthcare professionals and engages in cutting‑edge research, including extensive clinical trials leveraging artificial disc technology.

The team includes board‑certified spine surgeons, pain specialists, physiatrists, and physical therapists, with main offices in Plano and multiple locations throughout Texas.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Physician Assistant located in the Dallas‑Fort Worth Metroplex. The Physician Assistant will work closely with Dr. Ahn and medical staff to provide patient care, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing patient conditions, developing treatment plans, and assisting in surgeries. Duties include documenting patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with the medical team to ensure high‑quality care, and educating patients and families about treatment plans and recovery processes.

• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Experience in surgical assistance, particularly in spine or orthopedic surgery
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, such as MRI, CT, and X‑ray interpretation
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with a multidisciplinary medical team
• Ability to educate patients and families on back and neck care and treatment options
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent, and current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas
• Prior experience in spine care or pain management is a plus, NOT NECESSARY!
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred
