Job Summary

Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform MRI imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

Required Qualifications
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification (AHA or ARC) and ARRT‑MR or ARMRIT by first day of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of MRI experience
Job Duties
  • Review physician orders for accuracy and compatibility with MRI protocols; screen patients, verify contraindications, and document changes in the electronic health record.
  • Interview patients, obtain medical histories, explain procedures, and address questions regarding IV contrast and other exam requirements.
  • Perform MRI examinations accurately and efficiently, including administering contrast agents and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Ensure patient safety by verifying contraindications, assisting with positioning, and communicating test details to patients and families.
  • Conduct quality control testing, report system issues to the service engineer, physicist, and imaging leadership, and maintain data sets for clinical archives and research.
  • Respond to inquiries and maintain professional communication during shift hand‑offs and with on‑coming staff.
  • Provide orientation and training to new hires and students to ensure adherence to departmental standards.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient care and prioritize exams for efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory compliance, departmental goals, patient satisfaction targets, and financial responsibility regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and secure all workstation processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including research‑related tasks with human subjects when applicable.
