Job Summary The research program manager coordinates, promotes, and manages clinical and basic research initiatives in the Center for Cancer Immunology and Cell Therapy, working closely with the center director and other institutional partners to advance interdisciplinary collaboration, support grant development, and facilitate meetings and conferences.

Job Duties
  • Assist the Center Director and Operations Assistant Director with strategic development of new research programs.
  • Provide oversight of basic and clinical research programs.
  • Assist in long‑range planning for research program growth and changes in priorities.
  • Promote collaboration among investigators across disciplines, departments, and institutions.
  • Support new research funding opportunities by coordinating grant proposals, contractual agreements, and budgets; ensure timely submission and compliance with institutional mandates; oversee post‑award reporting.
  • Assist in developing clinical trials and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, study protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Assist the Operations Assistant Director with onboarding and orientation of new research faculty and staff.
  • Assist with lab space planning and inventory control for the center.
  • Organize meetings, seminars, and conferences.
  • Oversee the information services group in developing web‑based research collaboration tools and databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in science, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8 years in research, research administration, or non‑profit administration; familiarity with NIH grant preparation and management; advanced PC skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases). Prior involvement in the UTSW clinical research mentoring program is highly desirable.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Heart Saver may be required based on study protocols or affiliate location requirements.
Preferred
  • Ph.D. in a medical science field.
  • Prior experience in research administration.
  • Experience working in a medical center.
  • Ability to draft scientific documents.
  • Strong IRB experience.
  • Experience with grant preparation, formatting, and progress report submission.
