Qualifications
- Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree with coursework in sciences and anatomy
- American Heart Association BLS, 2 years of recent relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
- Operate imaging equipment, review images for quality and diagnostic value
- Identify normal and abnormal imaging results, provide a summary to physicians, and alert them to urgent problems
- Prepare patients for procedures and educate them throughout the ultrasound exam
- Review patient medical history, record imaging results, and coordinate care with various departments
