Primary Purpose
Provides analysis of specimens for review by the pathologist.
Minimum Specifications Education- Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science related field; OR,
- Must have a Master's degree in a Science related field if a Bachelor's degree is in a non-science related field.

EquivalentEducation and/or Experience
None
Certification/Registration/LicensureMust be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) OR
Registered as a Cytotechnologist with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC).
None
Skills or Special Abilities- Must be able to demonstrate ability to exercise judgment based on technical knowledge.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to maintain orderliness and to keep accurate records.
- Must be able to effectively follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff and hospital employees.
