Job Description:

North Central Surgical Center is currently seeking a PRN Peri Op Tech in our Main Operating Room
. Under the supervision of Surgical Services Leadership, the Peri Op Tech is responsible for supporting the surgical team and assisting with patient care and room readiness.

• Under supervision, holds retractors in the operative suite.
• Transports patients to and from surgery.
• Ensures cleaning measures for infection control, including cleaning, disinfecting, and managing soiled linen and solid waste.
• Assists with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures in a timely manner.
• Collects and properly disposes of all wastes, including biohazardous materials.
• Assists with limited patient care in the operating, recovery, and procedure rooms as needed, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• High School graduate or GED; ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• Previous clinical experience in an operating room environment preferred.
• Current certification in BLS.
• Ability to follow established cleaning methods in daily tasks.
• Ability to perform routine repetitive cleaning of assigned rooms, offices, restrooms, and other areas.
• Ability to keep all equipment in good working condition.
• Hospital experience 2–5 years.
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Cerner systems is recommended.
