Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform ultrasound imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

- Education:
Associate's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program - Licenses and
Certifications:
(ARDMS) AMER REGIS DIAG MED SONO, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography; (RVT) REGISTERED VASCULAR TECH;
Registered Vascular Technologist; (RVS) REGISTERED VASCULAR SPECIALIST; (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment. If hired without RVT or RVS certification, must obtain RVT certification within six (6) months of hire date.

Job Duties- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition, ensure it is properly supplied for procedures, and demonstrate stewardship of hospital resources to meet financial goals.
- Check equipment and accessories for proper working order, notify appropriate personnel for repairs, and respond to inquiries/calls regarding procedures in a timely manner.
- Communicate problems on shift with equipment or pending exams with appropriate staff and engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.
- Participate in learning experiences with new employees and students, perform quality control on assigned equipment, report issues timely, and attend departmental meetings/classes.
- Complete required courses/modules on time, adhere to departmental time, attendance and tardiness guidelines, wear employee , and follow dress code policy.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the designated supervisor and participate in all regulatory compliance activities.
- Verify patient identification using two identifiers, communicate clearly with patients, ensure proper preparation, verify screening protocols, and assess patients’ ability to tolerate exam.
- Perform grayscale, color, and duplex imaging exams for carotid, extremity venous and arterial studies, abdominal Doppler, small parts, OB/GYN, general abdominal/body or other exams as assigned.
- Assist physicians as needed in performing additional imaging or biopsy procedures and administer contrast material as appropriate.
- Ensure images and records are properly completed with patient identification data, appropriate labeling, and stored in PACS for radiologist or advanced practice sonographer.
- Monitor and train students and residents, assist in orientation and training of new staff, participate in QA/QC program, and accreditation processes.
