Lead Clinical Research Coordinator, Neurology
UT Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for a Lead Clinical Research Coordinator in the Neurology Department.
Job SummaryWorks under the direction of investigators to coordinate research projects. Primary duties include patient/participant coordination, data management, and quality control for multiple studies.
Responsibilities- Maintains required subject documentation for each study protocol.
- Interacts directly with clinical research participants via telephone, telehealth, or in-person.
- Screens, recruits, enrolls, and follows subjects according to protocol guidelines.
- Coordinates regulatory documentation to comply with FDA and university policies.
- Schedules procedures and manages study orders with PI oversight.
- Collects and maintains data collection tools and CRFs.
- Assists in developing and implementing research studies, including protocol writing.
- Conducts research procedures in scope of service with proper training.
- Provides supervision to research team members as needed.
- Performs research billing activities and links patient calendars as required.
- Monitors patient safety and ensures appropriate protocol reporting.
- Acts as liaison between investigators and HRPP, FDA, sponsored programs, and affiliated hospitals.
- Coordinates data management for national studies.
- Prepares annual reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
- Prepares and submits IRB protocols, amendments, and continuing review documents.
- Assists with research study budgets and fiscal management.
- Provides in‑service training to study team members.
- Reviews study protocols for feasibility and maintains data entry systems.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a medical or science‑related field.
- Minimum 4 years of clinical research experience.
- Prior participation in the UTSW clinical research mentoring program is highly desirable.
- Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatric clinical research environment advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- ACRP or SOCRA certification a plus.
