Patient Account Representative (Medical Collector)

Location:

REMOTE (must reside in North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Michigan
)

Pay: $18-20/hr depending on experience and state

We are the therapist-friendly physical rehabilitation organization in the west, supporting over 200 clinics across 16 states with 1,800 employees.

Job Duties
  • Manage primary and secondary claims
  • Respond promptly to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and departments
  • Work with clinics to identify and resolve issues regarding outstanding account balances
  • Resolve denials and submit appeals
  • Utilize the most efficient resources to secure timely payment of open claims
  • Research assigned correspondence and take necessary action to resolve requests
  • Ensure daily accomplishments contribute toward company goals for A/R
  • Resolve accounts in follow-up queues
Job Requirements
  • High School or GED required; equivalent education and experience acceptable
  • 2 years prior medical receivable collections experience preferred
  • Understanding of medical claims processing
  • Experience with insurance systems
  • Knowledge of insurance including State and Federal rules and regulations as they relate to billing and collections
  • Ability to understand claim denials/rejections
  • Ability to read an Explanation of Benefits
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
Education
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience
  • Medical collection: 2 years (Preferred)
