Clinical Staff Pharmacist, Acute Care, Variable Shifts, PRN

Join UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist in Acute Care with variable shifts and PRN status.

Job Duties
  • Perform comprehensive medication review and therapeutic monitoring for inpatient patients.
  • Enter and update medication orders accurately using the pharmacy computer system.
  • Communicate drug information and patient education to physicians, nurses, and families.
  • Enforce formulary system, manage inventory, and participate in cost‑effective medication selection.
  • Audit and monitor controlled substances to comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate in clinical programs, support P&T initiatives, and participate in data collection for quality improvement.
  • Lead and delegate tasks to technicians and support personnel, ensuring medication distribution accuracy.
  • Support orientation, training, and additional projects as needed to advance patient safety and satisfaction.
Experience and Education
  • Education:

    BS in Pharmacy or Pharm

    D from an ACPE‑accredited school.
  • Experience:

    1 year in an inpatient hospital setting required.
  • Licenses:
    Texas State Board of Pharmacy license upon hire and within 30 days of hire.
  • Certifications:

    BLS, ACLS, ST‑IV (Sterile Compounding), and (optional) Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 180 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail pharmacy experience for retail position.
