Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. It serves the greater North Texas area and includes 8 operating rooms, 24 inpatient rooms, and a full‑service emergency department. The hospital specializes in orthopedic, joint‑replacement, spine, general, bariatrics, surgical oncology, ENT, reconstructive surgery, and other specialties.

Job Duties
  • Perform duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in orthopedic, pediatric, and operating room radiology.
  • Operate X‑ray equipment to capture radiographs of designated body parts as specified by physicians; adjust exposure, voltage, and current per radiation‑safety procedures.
  • Prepare, set up, and sterilize medical supplies, instruments, and equipment; explain X‑ray procedures to patients; position patients with immobilization or protective devices; report any changes in patient condition to attending staff.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Record film exposure details, label films, and sort them as required.
  • Consult with lead X‑ray technician and radiologist to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Process film according to standardized procedures and maintain the work area clean and orderly.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technology program.
  • AART registered and CPR current.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Independent decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Professional verbal and non‑verbal communication.
