The Texas A&M Agri Life Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture (IHA) is the world’s first academic institute to bring together precision nutrition, responsive agriculture, and social and behavioral research to reduce diet‑related chronic disease and lower health‑care costs in a way that supports producers and the environment.

This Student Technician contributes to achieving the goals of IHA by supporting Healthy Living research studies and projects at the Dallas Center and the surrounding communities. The role works with the project manager and staff to support all aspects of ongoing projects, including preparing materials for study recruitment and data collection, attending events, and contributing to Healthy Living programs.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares materials for and attends study recruitment and data collection.
  • Prepares materials for and implements Healthy Living programs (e.g., physical activity, nutrition).
  • Enters and cleans data in online databases (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, Excel, SPSS).
  • Supports other office‑related tasks (e.g., attending meetings, taking meeting minutes, organizing supplies).
  • Maintains an orderly work environment.
  • Participates in weekly meetings and assists with program evaluation activities (e.g., health measurements, surveys).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program.
  • Motivated to learn.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities and tasks as assigned.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
