Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform ultrasound imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

- Education:
Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology - Licenses and
Certifications:
ARDMS (Amplitude Resonance Diagnostic Medical Sonography), AMER REGIS DIAG MED SONO (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers), and (RVT) Registered Vascular Technologist. (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification by first day of employment or within 180 days of hire.

Job Duties- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition and ensure it is properly supplied for procedures. Demonstrate stewardship of hospital resources to meet financial goals. Check equipment and accessories for proper working order; notify appropriate personnel for repairs. Respond to inquiries/calls regarding procedures in a timely manner. Communicate problems on shift with equipment or pending exams to appropriate staff. Engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.
Participate in learning experience with new employees and students. Perform quality control on assigned equipment and report issues timely. Attend departmental and facility meetings/classes. Complete required courses/modules on time. Perform pertinent duties in the best interest of patients, personnel and the facility as assigned. Adhere to departmental time, attendance and tardiness guidelines. Wear employee follow dress code policy. May assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of designated supervisor.
Participate in all regulatory compliance activities. - Patient Interaction:
Verify the patient’s identification using two patient identifiers as outlined by hospital policies. Communicate with patients clearly and professionally. Ensure proper patient preparation, verify screening protocols, and answer questions. Evaluate patient’s history and symptoms for the procedures’ clinical criteria. Instruct/communicate with patient and/or family regarding the tests to be performed and assess the patient’s ability to tolerate exam. Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge, continued education and skills to provide appropriate care for newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric age groups. - Exam Performance:
Perform color duplex imaging procedures to include carotid, extremity venous and arterial studies, abdominal Doppler, small parts, OB/GYN, general abdominal/body or other tests as assigned. Perform non‑invasive imaging evaluation of arteries and veins by Doppler and plethysmographic techniques.
