We are looking for a seasoned Finance Manager to manage accounting operations and ensure compliance across multiple U.S. entities. This role involves optimizing workflows, enhancing internal controls, managing regulatory reporting, and collaborating with auditors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close processes, including accounts payable, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reviews to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Lead regulatory filings for broker-dealers such as FOCUS filings, capital adequacy calculations, and weekly customer reserve computations.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls by documenting and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Prepare and manage all documentation requests for financial audits and regulatory inspections.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, regulators, clients, and counter parties.
- Cross-train team members for coverage of critical functions and support team growth.
- Collaborate with the Group Tax team on tax filings and related compliance matters to ensure adherence to applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support the Group’s budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data, analysis, and tracking to facilitate budget preparation and execution monitoring.
Qualifications& Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience (Big Four experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Background in clearing firms, investment companies, proprietary trading firms, banks, or trust companies strongly preferred. Experience with self-clearing or broker-dealer accounting is a plus.
- Series 27 license required or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of employment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems or tools.
- Chinese language is a plus to interact with stakeholders in Asia but not a must
