Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy, production-focused environment and has experience in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector. The position requires on-site presence to effectively collaborate with the accounting and finance teams.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and manipulate data for financial and operational reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

- Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUP, to analyze and present data effectively.

- Perform account reconciliations and support the team with analytical projects.

- Collaborate with leadership to compare, analyze, and format numerical data for decision-making purposes.

- Maintain a proactive approach to handling ad hoc requests and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Work closely with the on-site team to ensure seamless communication and project execution.

- Assist in journal entries and general ledger management to support accurate accounting processes.

- Contribute to tax-related tasks, including corporate tax returns and sales tax calculations. Requirements - Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and xlookup.

- Prior experience in accounting within the Oil & Gas or Energy industries.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to present data in a clear, concise manner.

- Excellent organizational and communication abilities to manage multiple priorities.

- Demonstrated experience with account reconciliation and general ledger management.

- Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related accounting functions.

- Ability to work on-site daily in Dallas, Texas, and adapt to a production-oriented environment.

- Availability to start promptly and commit to the contract duration.
