Controller, Finance & Banking, CFO

The HT Group has recently partnered with a growing manufacturer/distributor supporting the home and commercial services sector located near Love Field (onsite) in the search for a qualified Controller for an immediate need.

Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will serve as the company’s top financial officer and will oversee all accounting and HR-related functions in a small company setting (less than 100 employees). In partnership with other team members and external advisors, the Controller will also lead critical accounting, operations finance, human resources and administrative functions.

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets, ensuring an accurate and timely month-end close.
• Manage a small accounting staff (currently two employees).
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement) in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare additional financial reports for use by internal management, investors, and lenders.
• Prepare and present regular financial and KPI dashboards to leadership and investors, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead the annual audit, serving as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring timely completion of all audit deliverables and findings.
• Lead the annual budgeting process.
• Track performance versus budget, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain standard cost, inventory, and margin reporting.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Coordinate tax compliance with external advisors, ensuring timely and accurate filings and payments.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting, including ERP systems and related automation.
• Manage cash flow, including daily cash management, 13-week cash forecasts, and working capital optimization (receivables, payables, and inventory).

• Serve as the HR leader, overseeing HR policies, employee records, and compliance with employment regulations in coordination with external providers.
• Administer company benefit plans (health, dental, vision, and 401(k)), manage open enrollment, and work with brokers to evaluate plan design and cost.
• Administer bonus and commission incentive plans.
• Oversee compliance and reporting for retirement plans and other employee benefit programs in partnership with third-party administrators.
• Manage relationships with insurance brokers and carriers; oversee all business insurance (property, casualty, general liability, workers’ compensation, auto, and umbrella) and ensure appropriate coverage.
• Act as the primary contact for the company’s banking relationships, including lines of credit, treasury services, and covenant reporting.
• Oversee other select administrative services, vendors, and functions, such as external IT vendors, communications providers, and regulatory agencies.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a management role.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial distribution preferred.
• Experience in public accounting a plus.
• Experience working in a private equity-backed environment a plus.
• Experience implementing accounting, ERP, or other business systems a plus.
