The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely processing of payroll for a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented investment firm. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to partner closely with HR, Finance, and department leaders.
Core Responsibilities Payroll Processing- Prepare, audit, and process multi‑state payrolls.
- Review timekeeping data, compensation changes, and special payments.
- Validate payroll calculations and system outputs.
- Process bonuses, equity-related pay, off‑cycle checks, and year‑end adjustments.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll data.
- Run and reconcile payroll reports and support audits.
- Collaborate with HRIS/system administrators on configuration and testing.
- Workday experience is preferred but not required.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Reconcile payroll liabilities and assist Finance.
- Prepare payroll reports for internal partners and auditors.
- Provide customer service regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies.
- Support onboarding and offboarding payroll activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes.
- Participate in projects, audits, and year‑end activities.
Ridgepost seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must have:
Required- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, taxation and benefit deduction administration (FSA, HSA, 401(k), pre-tax vs. post-tax)
- Working knowledge of IRS contribution limits and payroll tax treatment
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and data integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR and Finance
- Experience in financial services.
- Familiarity with Workday, ADP Smart Compliance
- Knowledge of equity compensation.
- CPP or FPC certification.
- Experience in multi-entity environments
