CRE Credit Analyst

Leon Financial is the commercial real estate lending platform of Leon Capital Group, a Dallas-based family office and real estate firm. The Opportunity

We are looking for an analytically driven individual to join our credit team as a CRE Credit Analyst (Senior CRE Credit Analyst title available based on experience). This role is designed for someone who is deeply motivated by the technical side of commercial real estate credit and wants to develop deep expertise in underwriting complex debt structures. Experience with multifamily assets is preferred.

You will work directly alongside senior team members on live transactions, with meaningful responsibility from day one.

What You’ll Do:

• Underwrite commercial real estate debt transactions across senior secured loans, bridge loans, construction loans, preferred equity, mezzanine debt, and co-GP/joint venture structures.
• Build and stress-test financial models, including cash flow projections, debt service coverage analysis, and return waterfalls.
• Conduct market research, sponsor due diligence, and property-level analysis to support credit recommendations.
• Prepare investment committee memoranda and credit packages for senior leadership review.
• Support the origination team by evaluating inbound deal flow and screening opportunities against our investment criteria.
• Maintain and update deal tracking systems, pipeline reports, and portfolio monitoring tools.
• Contribute to the team’s AI-enabled workflows and continuous improvement of our underwriting processes.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial real estate credit, debt underwriting, real estate private equity, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CRE debt structures, including senior secured loans, bridge loans, preferred equity, mezzanine debt, and co-GP or joint venture arrangements.
• Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel and a desire to lean heavily into the AI space.
• Exceptional attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to build technical expertise in CRE credit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information into clear credit narratives.

Preferred:

• CFA Level I or CAIA Level I passed or in progress.
• CRE Analyst graduate or equivalent structured training in commercial real estate finance.
• Experience with real estate data platforms.
• Interest in or experience with AI tools and technology-driven workflows.
