Assistant Controller

The assistant controller plays a key role in the organization’s accounting and finance department, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the controller with audits, month‑end close, and regulatory compliance. The position bridges day‑to‑day accounting operations and high‑level financial strategy, overseeing staff accountants and coordinating cross‑departmental accounting processes. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, managing reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, implementing accounting controls, and assisting with audits.

• Direct and administer company accounting functions and serve as a liaison to external auditors, corporate accounting, and branch employees.
• Establish and maintain the company’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Oversee preparation and evaluation of financial operating reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Ensure transactions are executed in accordance with authorization and maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget.
• Formulate and implement goals and objectives.
• Safeguard access to assets according to authorization policies.
• Hire, train and develop associates; conduct performance reviews and establish goals.
• Communicate duties, core values and code of business ethics to associates.
• Collaborate with other departments on matters of mutual concern.
• Write and deliver presentations and prepare reports as necessary.
• Assist with other operational issues as assigned or directed by supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business‑related fields with 5‑7 years of industry‑relevant experience in general accounting and financial analysis.
• Experience with integrated ERP systems;
  Epicor P21 knowledge is a plus; intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• MBA or CPA certification preferred.
