About the Role

As an experienced Senior Underwriter (Hard Money Underwriter) with a strong background in real estate‑backed lending, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in underwriting for Fix & Flip, Bridge, and Ground‑Up Construction (GUC) loans and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced lending environment where speed, accuracy, and risk management are critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite hard money loan transactions including Fix & Flip, Bridge, and Ground‑Up Construction (GUC) loans
  • Review borrower credit, experience, liquidity, and financial strength
  • Analyze property valuations including appraisals, BPOs, and market data
  • Review construction budgets
  • Calculate and assess LTV, LTC, ARV, and cash‑to‑close
  • Identify and mitigate risk while balancing deal execution
  • Communicate underwriting decisions clearly with internal teams
  • Ensure loans meet company guidelines and investor requirements
  • Participate in loan committee discussions as needed
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct hard money underwriting experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Experience underwriting Ground‑Up Construction and Fix & Flip loans
  • Strong understanding of real estate valuation and construction risk
  • Ability to analyze complex loan structures and borrower profiles
  • Detail‑oriented with strong decision‑making skills
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines
