Overview

Great opportunity for finance graduates ready to start a career in banking! Now accepting applications for the Lending Trainee Program with permanent employment in one of three markets, Dallas, Texas;
Springfield, MO; or Kansas City, Missouri/Overland Park, Kansas.

Great Southern Bank currently holds commercial lending offices in:
Rogers, AR;
Davenport, IA;
Sioux City, IA;
West Des Moines, IA;
Chicago, IL;
Overland Park, KS;
Minneapolis, MN;
Springfield, MO;
St. Louis, MO;
Omaha, NE;
Dallas, TX;
Denver, CO; and Atlanta, GA.

This specific position will train in Springfield, MO and/or Overland Park, Kansas with relocation to Dallas, Texas, Kansas City, MO metro, or Springfield, Missouri upon completion of paid 20-week training program. Trainees will be supplied paid furnished housing while in Springfield and/or Overland Park. Upon successful completion of the training, relocation to Dallas, KC, or Springfield is required to obtain a permanent lending focused position with opportunity for advancement as a Credit Analyst with potential for advanced Commercial Lending opportunities with Great Southern Bank.

Responsibilities

This program will provide a meaningful work experience in several key areas of Lending. Trainees will work closely with bank staff to gain knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, and regulations in the following areas of the bank:
Commercial Lending, Consumer Lending, Loan Operations, and Residential Lending. This position will also be exposed to several other areas of the bank to gain an understanding of their importance to the Lending division.

  • Works closely with assigned mentor in Commercial Lending to gain knowledge of the bank's commercial lending processes, policies and regulations. Works directly with Relationship Managers to lean the credit analysis and underwriting processes, as well as attends prospective and existing customer calls. Participates in loan committee meetings to obtain further understanding of commercial loans.
  • Works closely with assigned mentor in Residential Lending to gain knowledge of mortgage lending, secondary market, mortgage underwriting, processing, disclosures, and regulations.
  • Works closely with assigned mentor in Consumer Lending to gain knowledge of personal loan types, credit report analysis, DTI, and collection efforts.
  • Works closely with assigned mentor in Loan Operations to gain knowledge of loan tracking and documentation processes. Responsible for learning the bank's core loan system.
  • Completes a wide variety of data input, word processing, copying, correspondence, reports, memos, etc.
Education and Experience

Knowledge of finance with real estate. Must have a recent finance degree, upcoming completion of a finance degree or equivalent experience including Real Estate exposure.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.

* Pay indicates rate while in training. Upon completion of trainee program, pay rate will be increased with the possibility of quarterly incentives.
