Overview
The Private Equity Manager oversees the full fund accounting lifecycle for closed-end funds, ensuring timely and accurate NAVs and financial reporting. The role leads day-to-day operations, manages and develops a team, and serves as a key client contact.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include capital calls, distributions, NAVs, financial statements, fee and waterfall calculations, performance reporting, audits, onboarding, compliance, and driving process improvements.
The Private Equity Manager will oversee the full fund accounting lifecycle for closed-end funds, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of NAVs and financial reports. This role involves leading day-to-day fund accounting operations, managing and developing a team, and acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include overseeing capital calls and distributions, reviewing NAV calculations and financial statements, managing complex fee and waterfall models, and supporting IRR and performance reporting.
The role will also lead teams through audits, fund onboarding, and transitions, while ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. In addition, the Private Equity Manager will drive process improvements, support recruitment and training efforts, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of operational workflows and client service delivery.
- 5+ years of experience in private equity or hedge fund administration, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of closed-end fund structures, including private equity, real estate, and hybrid funds
- Hands-on expertise with capital calls, distributions, NAVs, financial statements, fee and P&L calculations, waterfalls, and performance reporting
- Proven people management experience, including coaching, developing, and leading accounting teams
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage and build long-term stakeholder relationships
- Solid understanding of audit processes, internal controls, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting qualification is a plus
