Director of Finance & Business Analytics (CFO Successor Track)

The Director of Finance & Business Analytics will serve as a strategic leader responsible for elevating the organization’s enterprise forecasting, financial analytics, and decision‑support capabilities. This role drives the transformation of data into clear diagnostics and actionable insights, partnering directly with Commercial, Industrial Operations, R&D, and IT leaders to convert financial metrics into dependable operational plans and executive‑ready narratives.

As the architect of a modern forecasting and analytics ecosystem, the Director will lead the rebuild of end‑to‑end planning routines, restore governance across revenue and commercial finance reporting, and serve as a product owner for enterprise analytics. This individual will influence cross‑functional teams, strengthen internal controls, and establish a singleертвa source of truth for financial and operational KPIs.

In addition to leading the finance and analytics function, this role is intentionally positioned as a potential successor to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, proven leadership, exceptional analytical depth, and the ability to drive meaningful change within and beyond the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transform existing data into actionable financial plans and diagnostics across the commercial landscape, including price realization, stock‑in‑trade trends, key account signals, and rebate drivers.
  • Rebuild and institutionalize the annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasting routines for the full P&L, delivering accurate, executive‑ready reporting for monthly and quarterly

  • Provide resource allocation guidance to budget owners, including spend discipline, under/overspend analysis, headcount and payroll bridges, and vacancy/open requisition tracking.
  • Serve as product owner for enterprise analytics: define KPI catalogs, calculation standards, and master data requirements; establish single‑source‑of‑truth governance within the analytics/data warehouse environment; and stand up scalable dashboards across revenue, margin, stock‑in‑trade, gross‑to‑net, and operating expenses.
  • Institutionalize price/volume/mix (ASP) modeling at brand, channel, and account levels, including in‑market vs. ex‑factory bridges and stock‑in‑trade impacts.
  • Reinstate and strengthen core internal controls including planned/committed/forecast/spent tracking, ownership frameworks, and business partner cadence; influence inventory program management and other key financial levers.
  • Lead by influence, driving process excellence and cross‑functional collaboration across Finance, Commercial, Operations, and supporting functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or CPA highly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years managing teams.
  • Industry experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or CPG strongly preferred.
  • Advanced financial and commercial systems expertise, including BI/analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau), enterprise data warehouse environments, Anaplan/Hyperion (or similar planning tools), demand planning systems (e.g., Colibri), ERP systems (M3 or SAP), and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Exceptional financial modeling capabilities, rigorous attention to detail, and strong commitment to deadlines; maintains high ethical standards and a customer‑focused partnership mindset.
  • Ability to lead through influence, enable systems modernization, and drive cross‑functional process improvement.
  • Hybrid role requiring onsite presence on Tuesdays (with additional onsite days as determined by business needs).
