Financial Affairs Analyst Lead – Job Summary
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Financial Affairs Analyst Lead to evaluate financial trends and outcomes related to workforce budgeting and reconciliation, financial forecasts, and forward‑looking business plans to support pediatric APP strategic decision‑making. The role will develop, measure, and manage an annual operating budget of approximately $90 million, including over 400 clinical positions. The position will also evaluate payroll transactions and related professional effort reporting by specialty and work location to ensure accuracy and compliance, analyze patient billing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, and develop comprehensive financial plans and pro forma modeling.
The incumbent must present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with financial and clinical operational leadership and other cross‑functional teams. Advanced expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting is required. This position does not support H1B visa sponsorship.

- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Six years of experience in finance with demonstrated planning, forecasting, and financial analysis; analytical ability to understand complex financial activities of healthcare or research initiatives
- Provide financial support for all areas of the department
- Review and plan financial projections within the team; identify areas of risk, present findings, and make recommendations to management
- Plan, lead, coordinate, and manage budgeting and forecasting activities; evaluate, prioritize, assign, and implement capital projects
- Manage, direct, and plan evaluation of department or team’s financial performance; develop and recommend actions to achieve financial objectives
- Provide strategic consultation and guidance to management on financial or compliance issues; evaluate business processes and create recommendations for optimizing impact on business initiatives
- Perform financial analysis on various projects; access and utilize financial data from various sources
- Develop and manage work plans to meet target dates and deliverables
- Complete complex projects as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
