Contract Tax Manager opportunity, hybrid, based in Dallas.

This is a short‑term consulting role for an experienced tax professional who can step in immediately and take ownership of a backlog of legacy work left behind by a former partner.

The focus is on execution and cleanup, rather than client development or a lengthy ramp‑up.

The engagement centers on preparing and filing delinquent federal and multi‑state returns, amended returns, and related catch‑up work across individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and trusts. The right consultant will be comfortable reconstructing prior‑year work papers where documentation is incomplete, identifying missing information, and working through IRS and state notices tied to prior filings.

This role is best suited for a tax manager‑level professional with strong technical review skills, solid public accounting experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Someone who has handled high‑volume cleanup projects or legacy return remediation will be especially effective here.

Project duration is approximately two to three months, with full‑time hours preferred. Immediate or near‑term availability is important.
