We are seeking an experienced Controller/CFO who brings deep financial expertise and hands-on knowledge of the commercial construction industry - ideally in commercial pools or with a general contractor/subcontractor. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, understands construction billing practices end-to-end, and can strategically guide the company’s financial health, growth, and capital needs.
This is a critical leadership role that combines technical accounting, construction finance operations, and strategic financial management.

• Prepare, review, and publish timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, audits, and internal controls.
• Maintain a chart of accounts, job cost structures, and financial accuracy across all business units.
• Construction Finance Operations:
Oversee construction-specific billing, including progress billings, schedule of values, retainage, and change orders.
• Manage subcontractor/vendor payments, lien releases, and compliance documents.
• Understand and oversee construction terms, pay applications, contract structures, lien processes, and project cash flow.
• Partner with project managers and general managers on job costing, budget tracking, and revenue forecasting.
• Financial Strategy & Business Support:
Develop financial models for pricing, profitability analysis, and business scenarios.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to executives, general managers, and project leaders.
• Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost control, and operational efficiencies.
• Support business planning, budgeting, and long-term financial strategy.
• Lead financing activities, including debt arrangements, credit lines, and capital raising.
• Ability to engage with banks, lenders, investors, and external financial stakeholders.
• Work closely with GMs and operational leaders to support growth strategies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
• 7 to 10 years of experience in commercial construction – must have worked with a pool construction firm, general contractor, or subcontractor.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting and publishing financial statements under US GAAP.
• Prior experience in construction billing, AP/AR, lien management, job costing, and financial coordination with project teams.
• Deep understanding of construction billing cycles, pay apps, retainage, lien processes, and subcontractor/vendor management.
