Accounts Receivable Director
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite.
Vaco has partnered with one of our PE-backed tech clients to look for an Accounts Receivable Director. They are in growth/acquisition mode with a ton of accounting projects and need someone with strong leadership and well-rounded AR experience. This is an opportunity to build out a team and overhaul processes and procedures to lead the company forward through the growth phase.
Compensation: $140-150K
Key Responsibilities- Build, lead, and mentor a newly forming AR team, focusing on performance, accountability, and continuous development.
- Assess current team structure and capabilities, identify gaps and implement training or hiring strategies to strengthen the department.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including billing, credit, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.
- Design and implement scalable, efficient AR policies, procedures, and controls.
- Partner with IT and finance systems teams to evaluate and enhance AR systems and tools (e.g., ERP, collections software).
- Monitor AR aging reports, DSO, and other KPIs to drive continuous improvement and performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Legal to resolve billing disputes and ensure smooth cash flow.
- Prepare and present AR forecasts, trend analyses, and risk assessments to executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).
- 8-12+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit & Collections.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing AR or finance operations teams.
- Experience implementing process improvements and automation within an AR function.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems (ERP experience preferred: SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, etc.).
