POSITION SUMMARY
The Dallas Mavericks are seeking a Game Entertainment Intern for the summer. The Game Entertainment Intern will assist the Game Entertainment Department to help our entertainment teams deliver championship experience at games and appearances.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP- June 1 – July 31, 2026. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs.)
- Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Every Monday morning)
- Must be able to work up to 29 hours per week (3-4 days/week), which may include nights and weekends as needed.
- Escort talent to designated locations as per script requirements (e.g., halftime acts, anthem performers).
- Maintain inventory of entertainment supplies, uniforms and miscellaneous items needed for the season.
- Attend game day rehearsals when necessary.
- Monitor social media content related to entertainment and engage with fans.
- Coordinate delivery and return of entertainment items to and from the arena.
- Assist with backstage organization during game nights.
- Assist in staging live camera shots as required.
- Contribute to creative ideation for all in-game content including halftime shows, national anthem performances and pregame entertainment.
- Ideation, keeping us on top of the cultural zeitgeist.
- Conduct research using NBA archives to track entertainment trends.
- Theme nights, halftimes and pregame performances
- Monitor digital platforms to identify content approaches across the league.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Ability to multi-task, handle challenging tasks, and work well in a team environment.
- Proficient in basic computer software programs (Microsoft office, Outlook)
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic and energetic personality
- Professional demeanor and ability to engage with diverse co-workers and clients.
- Flexible work schedule – including some game nights and weekends.
- Possess strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
- If applying for college credit you must be able to provide proof that credit will be earned toward your course of study (from school/registrar).
- Experience working with promotions/community engagement/events in a marketing department is preferred.
