Mechanical Engineer, Building Services Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated mid-to-senior level licensed Professional Engineer to join our team of multi-disciplinary licensed engineers. The candidate should have knowledge of mechanical equipment and building/process systems, particularly for forensic engineering related to residential, commercial, industrial facilities, marine, and inland structures. Experience in failure cause & origin analysis, technical report writing, and construction litigation is preferred. Mechanical systems include HVAC, boilers, gas systems, plumbing, machinery & process equipment, fire protection, etc.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Conduct fieldwork to document conditions and damages to mechanical systems caused by natural or human-induced events.
- Use building codes and technical knowledge to establish repair scopes and perform cause and origin analyses.
- Evaluate design drawings and documentation.
- Communicate with clients, code officials, and contractors; prepare detailed reports.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Travel as needed on short notice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas; multi-state registration is a plus.
- Knowledge of building and construction codes (ICC, etc.).
- Experience with HVAC, boilers, fire protection systems.
- Field experience and strong communication skills.
- Litigation support experience is desirable.
Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $170,000, with benefits including a 401K match, ESOP, medical/dental/vision insurance, and paid vacation. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have a good driving record.
