About the OpportunityA well-established infrastructure contractor specializing in water distribution, wastewater systems, sewer pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant construction is seeking an experienced Estimator to support a strong pipeline of municipal and utility work in the Dallas market.
This role plays a critical part in securing new projects and shaping delivery strategy from preconstruction through handoff to operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for water, wastewater, sewer, and wet utility projects
- Perform quantity take-offs for underground pipeline, structures, pump stations, and related civil work
- Analyze drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Develop competitive pricing strategies for public and negotiated bids
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams for seamless project handoff
- Participate in post-bid reviews and cost analysis to support continuous improvement
- 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, or infrastructure construction
- Experience with water, wastewater, sewer, or pipeline projects preferred
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, equipment, and production rates
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
- Exposure to complex, large-scale public infrastructure projects
