Associate Consultant, Geotechnical Engineer

- Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field/site work and laboratory testing
- Prepare geotechnical data reports
- Prepare geotechnical calculations and conduct modeling, including slope stability, seepage and consolidation analyses
- Prepare geotechnical recommendation reports with senior review
- Serve as a resident engineer/site lead for construction quality assurance
- Work with a team or with minimal supervision, and with contractors and cross-discipline in-house designers
- Assist on projects involving dams, retaining structures, lined structures, underground facilities, rock and soil mechanics, and other geotechnical applications
- Assist with writing reports, cost estimating and permit documents
- Assist with preparation of project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with analytical abilities, leadership, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work both independently and within groups
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD, GINT, Slide, etc.)
- FE/EIT (or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year) required
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Some prior experience in civil, geological, or mining engineering is a plus
- Master’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering

CompensationExpected Salary: $81,200 – $111,650
WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less, and offer additional benefits, subject to internal equity and location.
